Ten 21 - Time for Audient
A 36-channel Audient ASP8024 console was the first choice for Sean Kenny to form the centrepiece of Ten 21 studio, a magnificent example of a successful mid-sized studio.
Nestled in the middle of the Kent countryside, Ten 21 studios was set up with the intention of offering various recording techniques to suit virtually any style of music recording. Kenny explains his decision to purchase the Audient. 'When I was looking for a console, I got to hear about a number of high profile users with ASP8024s in their facilities, so I had to check it out. I was immediately impressed by the look and the sound of the console, so there was no other choice.' He continues, 'My favourite feature is the bus compressor, it just does exactly what you want a bus compressor to do.'
Most recently legendary music producer Nick Tauber, whose star-studded CV includes artists such as Toyah, Thin Lizzy and Marillion, has been working at Ten 21. 'Nick regularly brings bands in and loves the studio,' says Kenny. 'He is currently working with one of his latest bands ‘The Last Taxi’ who have recorded five songs so far at Ten 21.'
The ASP-8024 is the result of a research and development programme that was driven by the simple goal of establishing a new standard in cost effective analogue recording. Audient delivers a product that is truly ‘technology proof’, while at the same time providing the accepted and familiar functionality and performance of existing ‘high-end’ large scale systems.
