Audient Off The Shelf And Straight Into Parlour Sound

Northants, June 2006 – The decision to upgrade the console at recording and production studio Parlour Sound, led owner Neil Haynes through 18-months of research. March this year saw the decision made and within a number of weeks the Audient ASP8024 mixing desk was installed and wired at the Kettering based studio.

'I love the sound quality and I can’t believe how quiet it is. I also really like the bus compressor - especially on rock music,' says Haynes, who also engineers at his studio. 'All my customers have commented on the Audient. Some of them have even come back to remix their older recordings on the desk!'

Open for four years, Parlour Sound prides itself on its state of the art equipment and acoustics. The 36-channel Audient console is flanked by high quality analogue outboard, perfectly complementing the SoundScape SS32 digital recording and editing system.

'The Audient ended up being the only desk that fitted all our criteria,' laughs Haynes. 'We were originally looking for a used console but Audient worked out as an affordable option. It’s worked out perfectly – the desk is absolutely 10 out of 10!'

Parlour Sound services a range of clients including Producer Russ Russel (Napalm Death, The Ga-Gas), Producer James Dunkley (American Headcharge, Fozzy), Big Mouth Records and Bravestar Records.

The Audient desk was purchased through Stirling Trading UK.
